“Gratis culture”, an anthem signed by Smaïl Yelles
A text about gratis culture, written by Naji Naaman, is now an anthem signed by the Algerian compositor and singer Smaïl Yelles. The said anthem, recorded in Algeria by Hazer Bach Ibrahim, will be diffused for the first time within the thirty forth “Wednesday Meeting” on February 19.
«Waja’ul-‘Ubur ilan-Nassil-Akhar»: Meeting and signing
A Meeting was held about «Waja’ul-‘Ubur ilan-Nassil-Akhar» written by Yussuf ‘Eid and published by Maison Naaman pour la Culture. The event took place at the Mouvement Culturel – Antélias within its thirty three edition. Speeches were given by: ‘Abdul-Fattah Az-Zayn, Adib Seif (on behalf of Rabi’a Abi Fadhel), Na’oum Khalife and the author.
Riad Hallaq’s «Hissadus-Sinine»
At the invitation of the Syriac Orthodox Diocese in Mount Lebanon and Tripoli, Notre-Dame University and Maison Naaman pour la Culture, a meeting was held about «Hissadus-Sinine» written by Riad ‘Abdullah Hallak. Speeches were given by: Suhayl Matar, ‘Issam Karam, Ghaleb Ghanem, Michel Ki’di, Monsignor George Saliba and the author. The ceremony was presented by the poet Elias Khalil. Two honorific certificates were presented to Hallak by Suhayl Matar on behalf of the NDU and by Naji Naaman on behalf of the MNAC and the FGC.
Qassem Ass’ad in visit to the MNAC and the FGC
Qassem Ass’ad, a great reader and a friend of the MNAC and the FGC, visited once again the premises. He has got the latest publications of the house and the foundation for his private library of more than… 5000 books!
Matta, Yelles and Mustafa: Three new FGC ambassadors
Béchara Matta (Belgium), human rights activist, Smaïl Yelles (Algeria), compositor and singer, and Ishraga Mustafa (Sudan – Austria), writer and culture promoter, are nominated ambassadors for Gratis Culture (FGC).
Wajih Nahlé in visit to the MNAC and the FGC
Naji Naaman received at MNAC and FGC premises the Lebanese International painter Wajih Nahlé who offered him a painting.
Each Monday morning people are received at MNAC and FGC premises to discuss diverse matters. Were present this Monday (from left to right): Yussuf Eid, professor at the Lebanese University; Jean Kmeid, writer, poet and critic; Father Suyahl Qacha, Iraqi erudite; Antoine Daher, physician and writer; Father Nicolas Haddad and Father Samer Naaman, from Saint-Paul convent (Faytroun); Naji Naaman and Shawqi Hissab, Ph.D. in Physics, living in the U.S.A.

Farés Youakim, a radio T.V. great figure and researcher living in Germany, visited the MNAC and the FGC, and discussed with Mr. Naaman cultural matters and issues.

“The International Civilization Open University” (ICOU), just granted a Ph. D. in Law to Mr. Naaman. A special ceremony should be organized for the occasion.

Naji Naaman to boycott the world cup
Whereas football is a mass sport, and knowing that the monopoly of matches during the world cup forbid poor people to see it, Mr. Naaman called for the boycott of the cup and all merchandises related to accompanied publicity.
Anis Moussallem and “’Ala Wataril-Hanine”
In a meeting held at the Cultural Movement – Antélias, “’Ala Wataril-Hanine” of Anis Moussallem, co-edited by the MNAC, was a front-page news. Speeches were given by Hani Fahs, Diab Younis, Raymond Azar and Joseph Abi Dhaher. Antoine Seif was the moderator, while Mr. Moussallem thanked the intervening parties and the audience.
A painting for Mr. Naaman
Suhayl Ibrahim ‘Issawi, Palestinian writer, offered Mr. Naaman a painting made by the Ukrainian Vita Tanel. The painting shows Mr. Naaman sowing culture all over the world!
At the invitation of Jbeil (Byblos) Cultural Council and the Cultural Movement – Antélias, a tribute was given to Mr. Naaman for his sixty year anniversary and his sixty book “Al-‘Adda’” at the Rahbani brothers theatre. Speeches were given and poems were recited by poet Élias Khalil, attorney-at-law Georges Baroud (for the Cultural Movement), ambassador and poet Zafer Al-Hassan, professor and critic Elham Kallab Al-Bsat, poet and writer Antoine Raad (for the Cultural Council), writer Georges Mghamés, professor and poet Émile Kaba, professor and poet Yussuf Eid; then Mr. Naaman thanked the intervening parties and the audience (some 300 people). A reception took place, and 2000 books of 25 titles were distributed gratis.

Two days to celebrate the International Day for Gratis Culture!
For the occasion of the International Day of Gratis Culture launched by Mr. Naaman in 2012, and for the occasion of the 35th anniversary of Maison Naaman pour la Culture, FGC and MNAC stocks were opened during two days for gratis distribution.

Georges Mghamés and his two new books
In a meeting held at the Cultural Movement – Antélias, two new books of Georges Mghamés, «Ayyam fi Bilad Al-Matrouchka» and «Fals Al-‘Awda ila Biladil-Ghibta» (the last one being edited by MNAC), were signed by the author. Speeches were given by Yussuf Eid, Rabi’a Abi Fadhel (Adib Seif took his place), Maha Al-Khouri Nassar and Georges Chakkour. Antoine Seif was the moderator and Mr. Mghamés thanked the intervening parties and the audience.
«Naji Naaman’s literary prizes 2013» yearbook: The best anthology in the world!
Chongqing City – China: IPTRC (The International Poetry Translation and Research Centre), «The World Poets Quarterly» journal and the editorial department of «The Chinese Poetry International» granted Naji Naaman and the «Naji Naaman’s literary prizes 2013» yearbook, published by MNAC and FGG, the international best selections of poems prize for the year 2013, the certificate being signed by Dr. Arthur Zhang, president of IPTRC.
Literary evening in Cairo as tribute to three Naaman prize laureates
Poet ‘Atef Al-Jundi, of Cairo poets association, and poet Muhammad Thabet made a tribute to three laureates of Naji Naaman’s literary prizes (2014), i.e.: ‘Abdul-Lah Ash-Shurbaji, Hiba ‘Abdul-Wahhab and Muhammad Mustajab.
Yvan Courtois on the cover of «The World Poets Quarterly»
Yvan Courtois, French poet, pianist and globe-trotter, Naji Naaman’s literary prize (2009) and Honorary Ambassador for gratis culture (FGC) since 2011, is on the cover of the Chinese magazine «The World Poets Quarterly» published by the care of Zhang Zhi, another laureate of the Naaman prize (2011) and… another Ambassador for gratis culture (FGC, 2011).
The anthology in Icelandic published in Reykjavik by Thór Stefánsson, Naji Naaman’s literary prize (2014) and Ambassador for Gratis Culture (FGC), comprises chosen texts of Naji Naaman. It is the 42nd version of this selection, the 41st being into the Algerian dialect one done by Abdul-Qader Mass’oud Kachida.

Nadim Nader, published by Maison Naaman pour la Culture, signed his book entitled «Boustan Fares» twice: the first time at Hadath (Beirut suburbs), the second at ‘Amchit (district of Jbeil-Byblos).
The Golden IOISCW Decoration invested to Naji Naaman
In the premises of MNAC and FCG, Naji Naaman was invested the Golden IOISCW Decoration by the President of IOISCW (The International Organization for Interfaith Speech and Civilization) Senator Mokhless Al-Jeddah.
Thór Stefánsson Ambassador for Gratis Culture
Thór Stefánsson, Icelandic poet, aphorist and translator, born in Reykjavik in 1949, Naji Naaman’s literary prize (2014), is nominated Extraordinary Ambassador for Gratis Culture (FCG).
«Cultural tourism» for the Saint-Paul Secondary School pupils
The Secondary School pupils of Saint-Paul College (Faytroun), guided by Father Georges Yaghi, visited the premises of MNAC and FCG for a «cultural tourism» program. They listened to Naji Naaman talking about stages to be followed in order to make books, before taking a tour in the Library of Series and Complete Works, as well as in Mitri and Angélique Naaman’s Commemorative Room. In addition, all students received gratis books for their own home libraries!

Francis Al-Haddad signs «Tarikhul-Usaril-Foutouhiyya»
Francis Al-Haddad, published by Maison Naaman pour la Culture, signed his book entitled «Tarikhul-Usaril-Foutouhiyya» at the auditorium of the Antonine Sisters School in Ghazir. Intervening parties were: Father Toni Bou ‘Assaf, Labor Minister Sij’an Azzi, Father Simon ‘Assaf, poet Elias Khalil, Father Antoine Douwaihi, Consul Ibrahim Antoun Al-Haddad and the author.
Maria Zaki’s «Le Chemin vers l’autre»
Maria Zaki, Moroccan writer and poetess, «Gros Sel» prize (Brussels, 2009), Société des écrivains valaisans prize (Switzerland, 2013), and Naji Naaman’s literary prize (2013), presented and dedicated at Espace culturel parisien le Scribe-l’Harmattan her new collection of poems entitled «Le Chemin vers l’autre», a French Arabic book published in April by «L’Harmattan».
Mahdi Mansour and Rim As-Sayyed in Paris
Mahdi Mansour, Lebanese poet, Angélique Bacha’s prize for the consolidation of family ties (2010), and the Syrian poetess Rim As-Sayyed are the guests of «Institut du Monde Arabe» in Paris where they animated a poetic evening at Avicennes library.
